Iperius Remote is one of the best remote desktop and remote support software. Among its many features, there is full support for Android and iOS mobile devices. In fact, you can use the free Iperius apps to remotely control a PC or MAC even with your phone, or vice versa, you can connect from a PC or MAC to your phone or tablet, both Android and iPad or iPhone.

There are several situations in which you may need to access your iPhone remotely. You spend most of your time on your computer, but you often need to check your iPhone because you are constantly receiving important messages. You would therefore like to manage the main functions of your iPhone directly from your PC, so you don’t have to constantly switch from one device to another. If this is your situation, you are in the right place! In this guide, we will show how easy it is to control the iPhone from a PC or MAC (or from another phone!) using the free Iperius Remote app and some other free tools that don’t require jailbreaking the phone (an operation that may expose your phone to serious security risks) and are still very useful.

The easiest way to control the iPhone from a PC or MAC is to use Iperius Remote , one of the best cross-platform remote desktop software. The free Iperius Remote app for iOS allows you to view the iPhone screen on any PC or MAC, after installing the program. With this system, it is possible to see everything that appears on the iPhone (or iPad) display , but it is not possible to interact with it due to specific restrictions imposed by Apple.

However, Iperius Remote offers a number of interesting features for controlling the phone from the computer, such as screen sharing, the ability to provide remote support, screenshot capture and video recording.

To use Iperius Remote, you must first install Iperius Remote on your PC or MAC. To do this, go to the program’s website, click the Free Download (for private use) button and wait for the software installation package to download to your PC. Once downloaded, launch the file and follow the appropriate instructions for your operating system.

Also, I would recommend you temporarily turn off the automatic screen lock of the iPhone, as it may interrupt the connection with the PC. To do this, go to iOS Settings, tap “Display and brightness”, then “Auto lock” and finally select the “Never” option.

Once these preliminary operations have been completed, I can explain how to proceed: to start, download the Iperius Remote app from the App Store and start it. Now, wait for the message “Ready to connect (secure connection)” to appear and write down the sequence of numbers that appears under the message “Your ID”. If you prefer, you can also share the ID via chat, email, message or phone.

After passing this step, log in to the computer, start Iperius Remote and enter the ID you noted previously in the text box under the heading “Control remote computer”. Then click on the Connect button, take the iPhone and touch the Allow button, which should have appeared on its display, to authorize communication between the devices.

At this point, you can use the various functions of the program through the menu on the right of the Iperius Remote for PC screen.

Screen sharing: this function allows you to see, in real time, everything that appears on the phone screen.

Screen Capture: With this tab, you can instantly take a screenshot of your phone. To do this, click the Screenshot button in the right-hand menu of the remote desktop window

iPhone screen video recording : You can record what happens on the iPhone screen and save it as a video file.

If in addition to Iperius Remote you want to evaluate other solutions for specific uses, you can try to control the iPhone from the PC using the DELL Mobile Connect application . This is an application for DELL computers with Windows 10 (also available on the Microsoft Store) which, using the “companion” app for iOS, allows you to send SMS, make calls, type phrases and words directly from the computer keyboard and transfer files almost instantly.

However, DELL Mobile Connect has some limitations: first of all, the devices involved must necessarily be connected to the same Wi-Fi network; secondly, the Windows 10 software can only be installed on DELL PCs. Therefore, if you don’t own a DELL PC, you can’t use this solution (or at least not officially; there are modified installers but they might have security risks and they rarely work as they should), sorry.

If you find it necessary to manage files, photos, contacts, backups and other important aspects of the iPhone from your computer, I recommend using the official solutions offered by Apple: iTunes on Windows and Finder on macOS.

iTunes is Apple’s software which, on Windows, not only allows you to manage the media library of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but also to explore and download the files present in the devices, create complete backups and, above all, it is essential to recognize the phone from the computer (its presence is in fact also required by other third-party software for phone exploration/management).

If you don’t have iTunes yet and you use a computer with Windows 10, go to this Microsoft Store page, click on the Get and Open Microsoft Store buttons and, when the program starts, press the Get button again and then Install, to download and install iTunes automatically.

If, on the other hand, you have a computer with a version of Windows earlier than 10, you need to install iTunes in the “classic” way: connect to the iTunes website, click on the link to download iTunes from the Apple website and wait for the software installation package is downloaded to your computer. Once downloaded, open the file and complete the installation following the instructions.

If you have a Mac with macOS 10.15 Catalina or later, you don’t need to install iTunes, as the functions of Apple’s management program have been integrated into the Finder (which you can invoke by clicking on the smiley speech bubble icon in the Dock) ; if, on the other hand, you have a macOS version earlier than 10.15, iTunes is already installed on the system and can be started using the icon depicting two musical notes on the Dock.

Once you have everything you need, launch iTunes (on Windows) or the Finder (on macOS), connect the iPhone to the computer via cable, click on the Continue button that appears on the screen and, after unlocking the smartphone, tap the button Authorize which should appear on the display of the same and enter the unlock code, to connect it to the computer.

Now, to access the iPhone management settings, click on the phone icon that should have appeared in the upper left corner of iTunes, or on the name of the same located in the Finder sidebar, under the Devices heading. Once connected, you can use the items under iTunes Settings and the tabs that appear on the top bar of the Finder to manage the main aspects of the iPhone.

Remember that, to confirm the changes made to the various items, you must click on the Apply/Synchronize button for them to take effect. To view the multimedia elements present in the iPhone memory, you can use the sections in the sidebar of iTunes, under the item On the Device, or use the specific programs present on macOS (for example, Photos). For more details, see my guide on how to sync iPhone with PC.

Finally, if you use Windows, you can also explore the internal memory of the iPhone (or at least some of its folders) as if it were a USB stick: to do this, start the Windows File Explorer (the yellow folder icon on the application bar), select the item This PC from the left sidebar and double-click on the Apple iPhone icon.

In addition to the methods just described, it is possible to manage the iPhone from the computer using some third-party programs, such as iExplorer or iMazing: I talked about it in detail in my tutorials on how to connect iPhone to PC and how to transfer files from PC to iPhone , as well as my program guide for exploring the iPhone.

If, on the other hand, you only want to control your iPhone on a Windows 11 PC to manage calls, messages and notifications, and your Apple device is running iOS 14 or later, you can pair it using the Link to Phone app for Windows 11.

To get started, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on both devices and that the Link to Phone app is already installed and running on your Windows 11 PC (press the iPhone button on its home screen). Subsequently, on the iPhone, download the app Link to Windows, start it and press the button Scan the matrix code.

Now, scan the QR code displayed on your PC screen, press the Continue button and then the Pair and Match buttons on the respective devices. During this process, you will be shown a numerical code which should match the one displayed on both devices.

At this point, grant the necessary permissions to the Phone Link app on your iPhone. Open your iPhone settings and select the Bluetooth option. Find your computer name and tap the (i) icon next to it. In the screen that appears, activate the options Show notifications, Sync contacts and Share system notifications.

You are now ready to explore all the features that the Link to Phone app offers. On the main screen, you can make calls, read messages and view notifications from your iPhone directly on your Windows 11 PC, using the appropriate tabs at the top.
